Allied Wire and Cable Ranks as Top Family-Owned Business in Philadelphia Region
In September, Allied Wire & Cable was ranked 15th in the Philadelphia Business Journal's list of top 50 family-owned businesses in the region. The list recognizes family-owned companies for their dedication to expanding local employment opportunities.

Allied Wire & Cable ranked 15th on the list which takes into account family ownership criteria and company employment statistics.
To be eligible for inclusion on this list, a company must be at least 51 percent family-owned by two or more kin-related family members. Allied easily met this requirement, as the wire and cable manufacturer and distributor is owned and operated by the three Flynn brothers: Tim, Dan and Mike.
Beyond that, the Journal's primary interest was demonstrated proof of the company's dedication to providing employment opportunities in the local community. At the time Allied's statistics were reviewed, the business had 219 employees.
Allied started in the Flynn family basement in 1988. Since that time it has outgrown multiple facilities and opened branches across the country. The business has been recognized by the Inc. 5000 and Philadelphia 100 "Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies" lists.
Despite exponential growth, the company hasn't abandoned its familial roots. Allied has most recently been recognized for their family and employee-centric values by Philadelphia SmartCEO at May's Family Business Awards ceremony.
