Allied's 9th Annual Charity Week Raised $18,145.74 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Humane Society
With the help of Allied's generous customers, Allied Wire & Cable raised over $18,000 during their 9th Annual Charity Week for the Humane Society and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event took place from December 15th through December 19th 2014, and was a huge success.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2015 - Allied Wire & Cable was able to raise a grand total of $18,145.74 for two well-deserving charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Humane Society. The generous sum was raised during Allied's 9th Annual Charity week, which took place from December 15th through December 19th, 2014.
Each year during Charity Week, a percentage of all sales go towards deserving causes, and 2014 was no different. Half of the total donation, about $9,000, went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that works to support and inspire hope in children with life-threatening illnesses. Allied has a long-standing relationship with Make-A-Wish over the years, and is proud to have been able to help make many wishes come true.
Karen Traten, Director of Partnerships & Communications at Make-A-Wish, thanked Allied by saying, "We appreciate your loyal support of our mission. Without supporters like you, we would cease to exist as an organization. Your gift does make an important, lifelong impact on the children we serve. Thank you!"
The other half of the total went to the Humane Society, another very praiseworthy cause. This animal advocacy organization and its affiliates give direct care to over 100,000 animals each year, and that is a number that Allied can stand behind and support.
When presented with the $9,000 donation, Sarah Speed, PA State Director of the Humane Society, said "We at the Humane Society of the United States are so grateful for the continued support of Allied Wire and Cable. With AWC's support we are cracking down on puppy mills, putting an end to dogfighting and working to ban tethering statewide!"
The holiday season is a time for giving, and the Annual Charity Week has become not only one of Allied's favorite holiday traditions, but a favorite for the community as well.
