(1888PressRelease) May 01, 2018 - New York, New York: Enovation Brands, Inc. will hold a press reception and wine tasting with Alberto Malesani of La Giuva winery on Thursday, May 10th from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse on 120 West 45th Street in New York’s Times Square.

Malesani is a founder and owner of the La Giuva winery located in Italy’s renowned Valpolicella wine growing area. The reception offers a rare opportunity to taste the winery’s portfolio of limited production fine wines.

Malesani is a celebrity in the professional soccer world where he enjoyed a career as both a player and coach. He is best known for his success with the Parma Football Club where in his first season as coach he achieved a rare cup double victory, winning both the Coppa Italia and the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Cup, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana the following season. It was during his tenure as head coach for Parma that Malesani discovered his passion for wine. While in Bordeaux for a match he spent a day visiting wineries and was enchanted by a red wine he was served with a plate of oysters, and a dream was formed. Malesani’s dream became reality when he founded La Giuva with his daughters Giulia and Valentina, whose names form the acronym that is the winery name. The La Giuva winery produced its first vintage in 2011.

La Giuva sits on a ten-hectare estate in the Squaranto Valley in the hills of Verona where Malesani was born and raised. The vineyards are planted with Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, and utilize an “esposizione contraria” or reverse aspect orientation unique to La Giuva. The wines display a balance, concentration and aromatic intensity which make them stand out from the crowd in Valpolicella and marks La Giuva as one of the area’s rising stars.

Enovation Brands, Inc. imports the La Giuva portfolio, which consists of “il Rientro” Valpolicella Superiore DOC (“il Rientro” meaning “the Return” is a soccer term denoting harmonious teamwork), Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG and Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG, to the U.S. market.
