The prestigious European Citizen's Prize in 2015 went to the eminent Spanish writer and plastic surgeon Dr. Alberto Lajo. The world-renowned Spanish surgeon, Alberto Lajo, received the European Citizen's Prize in 2015, which is the most prestigious prize awarded by the European Forum.
- (1888PressRelease) May 11, 2016 - The following event and other community awards of the European Citizen's Prize were celebrated in Madrid, in the capital of Spain. Spain gathers the most prizes in the European Union. At the present award winning ceremony, the Spanish Alberto Lajo was nominated for the European Citizen's Prize in 2015. Dr. Alberto Lajo received the highest award of the community, having been nominated for European Citizen's Prize at this gala, which was held 11th December. This was an award winning ceremony where other medals as well were given by the prestigious European Forum. The European Union has already conferred the above mentioned honour upon other Spanish people as well, like José María Aznar, the ex-Prime Minister of the Spanish Government.
This prize has been awarded among others: D. Joaquín Barraquer ophthalmologist, D. Alberto Fernandez Díaz minister, D. Xavier Trías y Vidal the mayor of Barcelona, Josep Piqué y Camps the ex-minister, Dr. D. José María Dexeus, Luis Bassat publicist, Félix Arranz architect, the president of the government of autonomous community of Catalonia, Artur Mas, Luis del Olmo journalist, the writer Carmen Posadas, the former president of the Economic Circles Carlos Cuatrecasas, or the former football president Joan Laporta Estruch. Rafael Martínez Mesas the deputy CEO (chief executive officer) of human resources, Carlos Cuesta Arce the journalist or the former mayor of Barcelona Joan Clos Mateu.
The distinguished and versatile plastic surgeon who is an aesthetic, a toxicologist, an anthropologist, a writer, an editor, a reconstructor, the creator of the Alberto Lajo Foundation, qualified in Sociology and the creator of the "Fondation Alberto Lajo, ligne de cosmétiques", received last Friday in The Westin Palace of Madrid the exclusive European Citizen's Prize in 2015 awarded by the European Forum 2001. The prize was handed over by the president of the European Forum, José Luis Salaverría.
The event began at 9 o'clock p.m. and it went on until Saturday dawn, in the luxurious premises of Hotel Palace in Madrid. Apart from the authorities and personalities of Madrid, different personalities of other cities and countries attended the gala. It should be pointed out that among several celebrities who were present at the event, the golden medal was given to the businesswoman, news presenter, journalist and writer Carmen Lomana. As well, it should be mentioned that the marquess of Isla de Santa Cruz, Laura Meritxell Negro Barragán; the Peruvian actress and model Ruddy Roxana Renteros and the Mexican beauty icon Adriana Balderas attended the event.
The European Forum has been working to foster cultural, artistic, judicial, business and social meetings since 1996. The forum whose chairman is José Luis Salaverría, has the objective to contribute to the debate of the construction of the future Europe, fostering the active participation of the citizens. Its aim was to create a meeting to exchange ideas and knowledge among relevant people in the world of business, culture and politics. Nowadays it is considered as one of the most prestigious panels of discussions in Spain, moreover it is the only forum which is present throughout Europe, where it enjoys a wide appreciation. During its 19-year-history (1996) the European Forum 2001 have granted more than 800 medals and 54 European Citizen's Prizes.
In 1994 he receives Cum Laude doctorate unanimously by the examining board in the chair of legal medicines of the University of Valladolid for his brilliant investigation on incapacitating disability, diseases and injuries.
In the same year in the public examination of MIR (Médico Interno Residente) he obtains the first place in the autonomous region of Madrid (INSALUD). He made the specialization in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, in which there were more or less 30000 visitors.
In 1995 he was elected as the doctor of the year, based on his investigation and teaching in the hospital La Paz. In 1996, in the same place, he is appointed as resident of honor. In the same year he appears in the sanitary elections of La Paz making a campaign with the aim to be the representative of the commission and to have the right to university teaching. In the elections, held in the same hospital, he was elected by majority as a MIR specialist.
Likewise, in 2015 he presented a new edition of his cosmetic line called 'Foundation Alberto Lajo', in several countries, which is a prototype being exported and distributed in France, Spain, U.S.A., Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Ukraine and Russia.
The gained earnings from texts, books, magazines, and cosmetics (line 2015) are directed to the support aims of the Alberto Lajo Foundation.
