ALAM Steel Chairman receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Alam Steel Chairman Mr. Shyam Alimchand Bhatia was bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in Entrepreneurship. He won this prestigious award at the Global Excellence Award ceremony at Hotel Crowne Plaza Zayed Road, Dubai on 11th October 2010.
- (1888PressRelease) October 19, 2010 - During the NDT Level 4 grand Global Excellence Award ceremony organized by Marine BizTV at Dubai on 11th October 2010, Alam Steel Chairman Mr. Shyam Alimchand Bhatia was bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in Entrepreneurship.
Mr. Bhatia won the award in competition with some of the prominent figures in the industry. His high ideals, commitments and contribution to the growth and development of not only his enterprise but also the whole industry appended to his commendable achievement. Mr. Bhatia came to Dubai in 1965 to work as a marketing executive for an insurance company.
He was the first one to import coir matting from India. He founded Alam Steel in the year 1979, one of the most prominent steel companies in this region, having diversified steel distribution and processing units. Mr. Bhatia is a keen sportsman and has devoted a major part of his life playing and promoting cricket at various levels. He believes that whatever he is today is because of cricket. He has published a coffee-table book on one-day cricket titled Portraits of the Game and its sequel Portraits of the Game-II, which is very popular among cricket lovers around the world.
During his acceptance speech Mr. Bhatia expressed his gratitude to all his colleagues at Alam Steel for their excellence and dedicated service to the industry. NDT Level 4 took place at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai and was attended by over 400 senior executives of the Non Destructive Testing, Industrial Quality and inspection industry.
The Award ceremony was conducted in connection with the NDT Level 4 - International Conference on Non Destructive Testing and Industrial Quality.
