Al Ahli Holding Group, Gold's Gym Sponsors Under-16 Team to Gothia
UAE Precor the only football team from the UAE makes it to the Youth World Cup.
- (1888PressRelease) June 20, 2011 - Dubai: Al Ahli Holding Group and one of its divisions - Gold's Gym, a leading authority in health and fitness, today cemented its support for youth sports in the UAE by sponsoring UAE Precor, the star under-16 football team. The team, which has won every youth football tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has high hopes to win the Gothia Cup, the World Cup for youth football, in Gothenburg, Sweden this summer.

UAE Precor is currently the only football team from the UAE that has qualified for the Gothia Cup, due to take place in Gothenburg from July 17th to 23rd, 2011. The team recently secured a third place in Division 3 of the Dubai Amateur Football League (DAFL) playing against adult teams.
"Part of the Gold's Gym philosophy is to create an enabling environment for youth sports. Our relationship with Derek Burke, the team's coach and Tarek Khalifa, the assistant coach, provided the perfect opportunity at the perfect moment since our facilities will open this year in multiple locations in the UAE. As soon as they are open, we are going to invite the UAE Precor boys to train with us as strength and conditioning is a key factor in any sport. Gold's Gym opening 26 clubs in the UAE will give young people a place to exercise and be able to compete at a higher level," said Jim Campbell, Director of Gold's Gym.
UAE Precor team consists of 22 players from ten different nationalities. The team is coached and managed by Burke, who saw talent and passion in these boys and supports them in all their achievements.
