Barnes, 26, has been with the Astros for eight years, and was called up from Class AAA Oklahoma City. Barnes was batting .321, with .381 on-base percentage and a .514 slugging percentage, between Oklahoma City and Class AA Corpus Christi. In his eighth year, Barnes was free to sign anywhere else, but chose to stay with the Astros.
