Agratech Ventures to Spend over $8.5m to Purchase New Machinery
Agratech Ventures the Canadian silver mining company are spending over $8.5m on new machinery to assist their Peruvian mining operation.
- (1888PressRelease) February 16, 2018 - A spokesman for Agratech said “We are in the process of replacing fixed assets in our Peruvian operation and the new equipment will assist us in reaching our target of mining 300 tonnes of silver by the end of the year”.
The upgrade of equipment will represent a 25% year on year increase covering all the firms key mining locations. The main beneficiary will be its Peruvian mining operation where they have already added 7 units of new mining and auxiliary equipment over the last 12 months.
The new equipment will have significantly improved technical and safety specifications. For example: one of the new purchases is a self-propelled roof bolter that inspects and installs roof supports, they have now been equipped with protective covers to ensure safe operation of explosive chargers and roof bolters.
Agratech placed an order last year to upgrade their ventilation systems after attending the 16th North American Mine Ventilation Symposium last year. They are keen on maintaining their excellent health and safety record and believe the spending is necessary to ensure both safety for their employees and to keep pace with new technology that increases production.
