AGIS, LLC, a sealing products manufacturer/distributor has acquired Distribution Specialists, Inc., a company specializing in boiler room sealing, maintenance, repair, and cleaning products.
- (1888PressRelease) January 10, 2011 - AGIS, LLC, Ambler, PA manufacturer/distributors of high temperature sealing products for industry, has acquired Distribution Specialists, Inc., Ft. Washington, PA, distributor of boiler room sealing, maintenance, repair, and cleaning products, it was announced today by officials of the two companies.
Robert Freese, AGIS president, and James Cates, DSI president, pointed out that the merger brings together two companies with extensive experience and resources in the field of industrial and marine sealing products. AGIS, founded in 2001, has long been a leading supplier of boiler accessories, gaskets, mechanical packing, tape, cloth and other heat-resistant, high temp specialty products. DSI, which was formed by Cates in 1985, offers a complementary line of gaskets, packing and boiler room products.
A joint announcement issued by the two companies noted that the merged company now offers one of the widest and deepest inventories of high temp sealing products in the East. In addition to its distribution service, AGIS also maintains in-house custom fabricating services facilities for hand- and machine-sewing of heat resistant fabrics, such as fire blankets and ceramic fiber cloth; die-cutting of gaskets, stripping, laminating, gluing, coating and adding pressure-sensitive adhesive.
DSI has been a niche supplier of boiler room maintenance and repair products, with emphasis on product for the Cleaver BrooksŪ boilers. In addition, DSI had a strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic area selling maintenance products to industry.
