After Party Jazz Jam Sessions and Nightlife Entertainment Part of Dallas' First Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival
To heighten the enjoyment of the 3-day Labor Day Weekend of the first TBAAL Riverfront Jazz Festival in Dallas, organizers are partnering with six local hotels to include free live jazz music after parties. In addition, a midnight to 2 a.m., Jazz Jam Session will be held at TBAAL's Naomi Bruton Main Stage on Friday and Saturday.
- (1888PressRelease) August 01, 2017 - DALLAS, TEXAS - Dallas’ First Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival, presented and produced by The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL), will include AFTER PARTY JAZZ JAM SESSIONS plus FREE LIVE MUSIC AT SIX DOWNTOWN DALLAS HOTELS during this Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 1-3, 2017.
“This is a celebration of music and we want everyone to sample a taste,” said Curtis King, TBAAL Founder and President and the festival’s creator and producer. “Live music is intoxicating. We’re offering as many opportunities for people to partake and enjoy more great jazz, R&B, Neo-Soul, Blues and Hip-Hop music.”
Tickets are $20 per night for the Friday and Saturday, midnight to 2 a.m. jam sessions at TBAAL in the Dallas Convention Center Theater Complex, 1309 Canton Street.
TBAAL’s House Band will showcase the house-rocking party, but musicians are invited to bring their instruments and join the jam session fun. Although there is no fee required for musicians to participate, they are asked to sign-up on site with the night’s jam session host.
Partnering with the weekend festival events, the six hotels Sheraton, Aloft, Hilton Anatole, Hotel Indigo Downtown, Homewood Suites and the Omni are hosting and offering live entertainment featuring some of the Dallas’ finest and most popular musical talent. The hotel schedule is below:

The stately Horseshoe Park, 811 Pemberton Hill Road is hosting The Riverfront Jazz Festival.
Erykah Badu, Will Downing and Najee are the festival Honorary Chairs and among the diverse artists who will perform. Other talent includes Euge Groove, Oleta Adams, Peter White, Keiko Matsui, Jon Secada, Martha Wash, Paul Taylor, Maysa, Freda Payne, Mary Wilson, Ruben Studdard, Jeff Lorber, Rahsaan Patterson, Eloise Laws, Karen Briggs with Jazz in Pink, Jonathan Butler, R.L. Griffin, Wanda King, Lucky Peterson, Lady Tambourine, Yarbrough & Peoples, Funky Knuckles, Jackie Scott & The Housewreckers, Rachelle Ferrell, Melanie Fiona, Alex Bugnon, Kim Waters, Phil Perry, Pieces of A Dream, Shaun Martin, Xavier Jackson, Keith Anderson, Tom Braxton, Mark Felton, Art Sherrod, Jr. Joseph Vincelli and Clay Prichard. The multi-genre music ranges from Jazz (Traditional and Smooth), R&B, Pop, Soul, Blues and Neo-Soul to be performed on two main stages – the Visit Dallas Jazz Main Stage and the Blues and Soul Main Stage. A third stage will be dedicated specifically for young promising artists featuring 34 musical acts.
