Adventure Skydiving Tennessee Hosts Multiple Sclerosis Fundraiser
Skydiving in Nashville along with Adventure Skydiving Tennessee hosts 2nd "Falling for a Cure" event to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and MS Research.
- (1888PressRelease) July 15, 2010 - Nashville, TN - A group of skydivers are raising money in support of the MS Society and MS research by organizing a group jump at Adventure Skydiving Tennessee (AST). On Sunday, July 25th, local and visiting skydivers will be gearing up and boarding airplanes to jump in support of the MS society.
Experienced skydivers, first-timers, and friends will be meeting at The Frayed Knot in Nashville before proceeding to skydive in Nashville for the cause! Jumpers and friends are invited to join the group as they "Fall for the Cure" at this all day event.
Falling for a Cure is organized by Randy Huth and Tyler Parrish who gave a test run for their event in April at AST. At the first event, Huth and Parrish were two of 11 first-time skydivers to jump in an effort to raise money for MS research.
"We wanted to do something different to raise money. At the first event, we weren't sure of the specifics, so we tried to limit the number to 10 jumpers. We saw it could work and decided to run it again just three months later," Huth said.
At the first Falling for a Cure event, Huth and Parrish raised $1,000 in support of the MS society. This time, their goal is to raise $5,000 by having 50 first-time jumpers come out in support of their cause.
When asked about his inspiration for organizing this event, Huth said "Tyler [Parrish] and I grew up together. Tyler's dad was stricken with MS when we were younger and we always wanted to do something to support him."
Skydiving in Nashville with Adventure Skydiving Tennessee is hosting this day-long event filled with skydiving, music, food and fun! Huth and Parrish have organized a DJ to come and play music all day and prepared a spread of food to support the jumpers.
