Advantis Credit Union Supporting Local Nonprofits with $50,000 Community Grant Fund

- Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2014 - Advantis Credit Union today launched the fourth annual GROW Community Fund. GROW is a $50,000 grant fund designed to provide nonprofit and service organizations with financial resources to address a wide range of needs and tackle challenges in the community, one project at a time.
Since 2011, the Advantis GROW Community Fund has contributed $150,000 to local organizations and funded more than 20 projects including creating community gardens for elementary students, refurbishing a home for foster children and providing kitchen equipment to an organization that feeds low-income adults with mental illnesses.
Beginning today, local nonprofit and public service organizations are invited to submit a grant application for any amount up to $10,000 at www.growpossibilities.com. Applications will be accepted online through May 30. A selection committee will narrow down and identify the projects that provide the most long term benefits to the community. The public will then be invited to vote and determine which projects will receive grant funding. Online voting will begin June 9 and take place on Advantis' Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AdvantisCU) and the Advantis homepage (www.advantiscu.org).
The 2014 GROW grant recipients will be announced in early July.
