Adoption of Agile is the 'Driving Force' of Good Software Development According to Agile Manifesto Signatories Survey

The survey was conducted to assess the development of Agile methodologies since the release of the Manifesto 10 years ago. Typemock's unit testing tools enable teams to be more Agile by promoting test driven development practices.
"The self-organization of teams and continuous improvement is still the driving force in good software development," commented Jeff Sutherland, one of the original signatories and author of the Scrum Log Blog. "The progress we have made is to shift the mindset so that most software organizations think that Agile is a good thing. However, most of them are having trouble implementing it so we must focus on the Manifesto for another 10 years."
According to Robert Martin, also known as Uncle Bob, in order to be Agile, you need to practice unit testing. In 'The Land that Scrum Forgot' he wrote, "Programmers can be significantly slowed down by bad code. A code base without tests is a mess no matter how clean it might otherwise be. Make sure they (developers) are practicing the disciplines that produce data that can be measured. You use that data to measure the quality of the code they are producing."
