Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Undergoes "Technology Facelift" with the Help of Stored Technology Solutions
Glens Falls-based IT and managed services provider updates the Chamber's computer systems enabling them to better serve their more than 1,000 members; exclusive gift to Chamber members encourages other area businesses to do the same.
- Glens Falls, NY (1888PressRelease) April 29, 2011 - Stored Technology Solutions, Inc. (StoredTech) and the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) announced today that they recently completed an initiative to upgrade the ARCC's computer, network and email systems and that StoredTech is now offering a free gift to all ARCC members.
The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized that their antiquated computer systems were preventing them from having a stable, secure and scalable environment. In order to improve their efficiency, allowing them to better serve their members, ARCC enlisted the help of StoredTech Solutions, a local firm and ARCC member, focusing on IT solutions for business environments.
StoredTech provides and supports hardware and software solutions that are designed specifically for small to mid-sized businesses. Their hands-on approach allows them to work with businesses to ensure that Information Technology solutions are optimized to serve each business's unique needs, with an ultimate goal of increasing efficiency and productivity while decreasing the burden on existing resources.
"Securing a reputable, reliable technology firm to handle our sensitive IT needs was one of my top priorities," noted Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Peter Aust. "Stored Technology offers enterprise-level technology solutions and has excelled at meeting our needs."
The ARCC's recent project consisted of many elements including installation of a Cisco security appliance with VPN access for remote workers, secure wireless for internal staff and public Wifi that is only accessible during business. StoredTech also implemented hosted Exchange which will allow the chamber to have 24/7 connectivity to email from anywhere. The team then standardized the Chamber's anti-virus application and will be continuously managing the network remotely, a service known as "Managed Services". Manage Services allows Storedtech to apply patch management on a wide range of applications along with anti-virus updates to ensure that the secure environment is maintained.
The final phase of the ARCC's technology "facelift" was to improve the Chamber's data security and disaster recovery. Under the new implementation, the Chamber's data will be fully encrypted and backed-up each night to StoredTech's offsite data vaulting center. In turn, the data is then replicated to a second location for added measure.
"We are proud to add the ARCC to the list of local clientele we currently serve." said James Ecklund of StoredTech "We hope to help other area businesses and chamber members improve their efficiency by identifying their technology needs and customizing solutions to meet those needs. With that said, we'd like to extend a special offer to all current and future ARCC members and provide them with a free gift as well".
StoredTech is now offering all ARCC members a free 1 Gig USB Memory Stick, while supplies last. This memory stick will be preloaded with a network evaluation tool which will allow companies to assess the health of their own computer networks. In addition, any interested ARCC member can receive a free 30-day trial of StoredTech's Managed Services client. Chamber members and future chamber members can obtain their Memory stick and additional information about the StoredTech offer at the chamber's offices located at 136 Glen Street, Suite 3.
