Adelphi University to Host Mid-Autumn Festival on September 28 in the Performing Arts Center
Adelphi University is proud to announce that the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) in collaboration with Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity will host for the first time a Mid-Autumn Festival.
- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2012 - This time honored tradition from China will take place on Friday, September 28, 2012, in the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC), Concert Hall, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. Traditional moon cake will be given to all attendees.
Appreciating the moon has been custom since the Tang Dynasty (618-906 b.c.) originated in China. Today, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, families gather to pray to the moon for a good harvest. Join the cultural exchange as the CSSA and Pi Lambda Phi celebrate this tradition with performances reflecting old and new customs. This event reflects not only an important tradition of China, but also the tenets of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity's mission to "eliminate prejudice."
Admission is $3.00 and includes a raffle chance to win an ipod. To RSVP or for questions, contact cssa ( @ ) adelphi dot edu dot
