Adelphi University Presents its Distinguished Faculty in Concert
Six Adelphi University faculty members will perform at the campus this February.
- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) January 30, 2014 - On Saturday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m., Adelphi University's Department of Music will present its Distinguished Faculty in Concert, featuring six faculty members performing an evening of music from across the years. The program includes Professors Mark Gustavson (clarinet), Mary Mackenzie (soprano), Bonnie McAlvin (flute), and Dennis Sullivan (percussion), supported by pianists Kristin Samadi and Jad Bernardo. The event will take place in the Performing Arts Center Concert Hall, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.
The program schedule includes:
• George Aperghis' Le Corps a Corps performed by Dennis Sullivan
• Richard Wernick's Moonsongs from the Japanese performed by Mary Mackenzie
• Selections from George Rochberg's Eleven Songs performed by Mary Mackenzieand Kristin Samadi
• Otar Taktakishvili's Sonata for Flute and Piano performed by Bonnie McAlvin and Jad Bernardo
• Mark Gustavson's Hymn to the Vanished for clarinet and piano performed by Mark Gustavson and Jad Bernardo
• Guillaume Conneson's Techno-Parade for flute, clarinet, and piano performed by Jad Bernardo, Mark Gustavson, and Bonnie McAlvin
