Adelphi University Announces the Appointment of Dr. Lauren Mounty as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success
Dr. Lauren Mounty will be succeeding Angelo "Bill" Proto, M.B.A. '70 as the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. Dr. Mounty will join the Adelphi community on May 1, 2013.

Scott has announced, following a national search, the appointment of Dr. Lauren Mounty as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. Dr. Mounty, who currently serves as Dean of the School for Global and Professional Programs at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, will succeed Angelo "Bill" Proto, M.B.A. '70, who will be remaining with Adelphi part-time as Assistant to the President for Facilities Planning and Management where he will oversee the University's capital efforts, including, the new Nexus Building, construction of which is expected to begin in the fall of 2013. Dr. Mounty will join the Adelphi community on May 1, 2013.
Dr. Mounty has a distinguished 27 year career in higher education, having served in enrollment, student success, and leadership roles at Marist and Fordham University. Since joining Marist in 2008, she has been on the President's Cabinet and a member of the Academic Dean's Council with responsibility for all adult and non-traditional program initiatives for the College. In her role as Dean of the School of Global and Professional Programs, Dr. Mounty developed innovative programs to meet the emerging needs of adult students and new revenue streams for Marist, forged strategic partnerships with regional businesses and oversaw strategies to enhance student outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
Prior to joining Marist College, Dr. Mounty served as the associate dean at the Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration in Manhattan. She managed the Manhattan, Westchester and Beijing, China campus locations, encompassing admissions, student services, club activities, career services and academic advising and program management. Also while at Fordham, Dr. Mounty created and managed a "one stop shop" for program and student services, streamlining processes and improving customer service at the Lincoln Center Campus.
As Adelphi's vice president for enrollment management and student success, Dr. Mounty will lead a team of more than 275 employees, overseeing the University's admissions, financial aid, public safety, student affairs, career services and athletics operations. Reporting to President Scott, she will serve as a member of the University's senior staff and will interact with the University's Board of Trustees, especially the Student Life and Finance and Administration Committees.

Dr. Mounty, who will remain in her role at Marist through April, serves as a Board Director for the Make a Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley and as a member of its audit committee. She also serves as the Associate Chair for Networking and Communication for the International Committee of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association. Dr. Mounty earned her B.A. in journalism and M.Ed. in education (student personnel management) from the University of South Carolina and her Ph.D. in social science from Fordham University.
