Willumstad School of Business Anustha Shrestha '15 was awarded the GEICO Achievement Award, a $1,000 reward bestowed to outstanding undergraduate students in the U.S. To qualify for the program, students must be either a sophomore or junior at a four-year accredited school majoring in business, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. They must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA and have demonstrated leadership on campus or within the community.
An economics major and Honors College student, Anustha is also an international student from Nepal. In this role, she attended briefings held by the UN and wrote for the "Adelphi and the UN" blog.
Anustha was presented the GEICO Achievement Award on August 22 at the Community Fellows Breakfast. She has interned at Sustainable Long Island in Farmingdale, NY and at Five Towns Community Chest in Woodmere, NY.
Of the best thing about being a student at Adelphi, Anustha says the tight-knit community of students and professors has helped her to learn, grow, and explore.
