Adam S. Rosenthal Joins Upstate Shredding - Ben Weitsman & Son As Director Of Acquisitions
Adam Rosenthal former General Manager for Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc., a global leader in metals recycling, has joined Upstate Shredding-Ben Weitsman & Son Inc. He now the Director of Acquisitions as announced by company president, Adam Weitsman.

Rosenthal has joined his Company as Director of Acquisitions. Prior to joining Upstate, Mr. Rosenthal was General Manager of scrap metal facilities for Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc., a global leader in metals recycling.
"Over the past year we have acquired businesses in Syracuse, Jamestown and Liberty, New York and in Towanda, Pennsylvania," Adam Weitsman commented. Mr. Rosenthal's nearly 30-years experience in virtually every aspect of the metals business from mining to brokerage to managing multiple scrap metal and recycling facilities is invaluable. Prior to joining Upstate, Mr. Rosenthal had operational responsibility for six northeastern Schnitzer Steel facilities. Before that, he held management positions with New York Recycling Ventures, a Division of Metal Management NE, Inc.; W. Silver Recycling; Commercial Metals Company; Albert Bros., Inc.; Recycling Industries; Staiman Recycling/Brothers; David J. Joseph Company and World Resources.

In addition to the recent acquisitions, the Company has feeder yards in Binghamton, Ithaca and Owego, New York as well as a separate mega-shredder and nonferrous separation plant in Owego. The shredder is currently being upgraded to a 10,000 hp Riverside Engineering mega shredder that will handle 400-tons per hour. Upstate Shredding LLC - Ben Weitsman & Son is the largest privately held scrap metal processor and recycling operation on the east coast.
