AdamFolker dot com is the next step in Folker's pursuit of giving back to the community. The site is meant to provide mentorship for athletes at all levels, and insight into what has become known as the #FolkerSystem.
AdamFolker dot com is updated daily with resources from Adam himself, as well as doctors and sports psychologists.
After suffering a broken hand, followed by what doctors deemed to be a career-ending hip injury, Folker underwent a grueling surgery two years ago to reshape his hip bone. Last season, after refusing to hang up his sneakers, Folker won the first ever Big West Hustle Award, averaging 8.2 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game, one year after his major surgery. Against Cal State Northridge last February, Folker scored a career-high 28 points, willing the Anteaters to an overtime victory and reestablishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Big West. A senior captain, Folker hopes to lead the Anteaters to the NCAA Tournament in March for the first time in program history.
Originally from Markham, Ontario, Folker's basketball dreams began with ice cold pick-up basketball games in Canada that helped toughen him up for Division I competition. As a four time Scholar-Athlete at UC Irvine, Folker not only boasts a high field-goal percentage, but an impressive grade-point average as well. A man with character and tenacity, Folker maintains a gluten-free diet, advocating proper eating, sleeping, recovery, and mental preparation for success on the court and in life.
"The way [Folker] lives his life is perfect for a student-athlete," UC Irvine men's basketball coach Russell Turner said.
