Aculon Announces New Multi-Surface Repellency Treatment
Aculon, Inc. announces the release of their newest hydrophobic (water repelling) and oleophobic (oil repelling) surface treatment. This easy to apply, optically clear coating bonds with nearly any substrate and is valuable for numerous industries including electronics, mold release, industrial, optics, consumer goods, easy clean surfaces and numerous others.
- (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2013 - Aculon, Inc. is excited to announce the release of their newest repellent nanoscale surface treatment, Aculon E. This new coating utilizes Aculon's proprietary TMC (transition metal complex) technology to provide a hydrophobic (water repelling) and oleophobic (oil repelling) surface. This revolutionary repellent treatment is extremely easy to apply and bonds with nearly any substrate including metals, plastics, glass, painted surfaces, epoxies and more.
"The introduction of a durable multi-surface oleophobic coating is very valuable for numerous industries," says Edward Hughes, CEO of Aculon. "We took our hydrophobic coating and modified it to have oleophobic characteristics as well. After a year of testing in numerous applications we are now ready to make this broadly available."
Unlike other repellent technologies, this ultra-thin optically clear coating is a one-step process that is easy to apply and doesn't require complex equipment. The highly hydrophobic and oleophobic characteristics in addition to ease of use mean that the potential applications for Aculon E are limitless. Potential applications include but are not limited to: Electronics, mold release, industrial, optics, consumer goods, easy clean surfaces, and numerous others.
