INSPIRATION
Script refers to the events from an Italian opera "Adriana Lecouvreur" written by Francesco Cilea, where the idea of rivalry between two artists was taken from. In this case Adriana, the main character, prepares for role of Lady Macbeth, but her rival will use mysterious Mr. K to jeopardize her role. The main actress, Klara Landrat says: „I play Adriana who is only seemingly fragile and sensitive girl. When her character is trialed, she must fight till her last breath ". The story was also inspired by a few motives from works of Roman Polanski and David Lynch. For instance Mr. K. has appeared earlier in "Inland Empire", though played by different actor. Here, his profession became recording voices of the dead what is known as Electronic Voice Phenomenon. Mr. K. is like the case of a Nazi doctor Mengele or just as it is in the movie „Death and a Maiden" - doctor Miranda, who carries on experiments on held captive people. Mr. K desires to get unique voices of a soul leaving a body.
