Activcare Physical Therapy Announces Seven New Hires
New physical therapists to support Activcare Physical Therapy's growing practices in Fayetteville and Raleigh, as well as new office opening in June in Clayton.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) May 16, 2012 - Brad Hancock, MPT, of Activcare Physical Therapy, announced that Kara Minchener, PT, DPT, Ryan Peryer, PT, DPT, L. Brittany Rice, PT, DPT and Lee Welsh, PT, DPT will be treating patients in the Fayetteville office. Tosha Henk, PT, DPT, CLT and Matthew Lisk, PT, DPT, ATC will join the practice at Rexview Medical Plaza in Raleigh, and Scott Sedei, MPT will join the new office at Spring Branch at Clayton.
Kara Minchener PT, DPT is originally from Jamestown, NY. She received her Bachelor's in Health Science from Daemen College. In 2010 she completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree. While earning her Doctorate Degree she worked as a graduate anatomy lab teaching assistant. Kara plans to continue to pursue further specialty training for Vestibular/Neurological Rehabilitation.
Ryan Peryer, PT, DPT hails from Malone, a small rural area in Northeastern New York. A 2008 graduate from the University at Buffalo with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Ryan was chosen by faculty as the student demonstrating "Leadership in Physical Therapy". Ryan brings three years of experience in diverse patient populations in both the outpatient and acute in-patient settings. Ryan's passion is teaching, and he is an American Physical Therapy Association accredited Clinical Instructor.
L. Brittany Rice, PT, DPT grew up in Burlington, NC. She graduated from Meredith College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and from East Carolina University in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Brittany is trained in the Graston Technique®, a technique using stainless steel instruments to assist in the treatment of soft tissue abnormalities for chronic, acute and post-surgical populations.
Lee Welch, PT, DPT is originally from Charlotte, NC. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina State University in 2004 and worked as a Scientist for 5 years before going back to graduate school for physical therapy. Lee received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2012, where his specialized coursework included advanced concepts in lower extremity evaluation, sports physical therapy, as well as spine and manual therapy. Lee has experience in many clinical settings and has worked with professional athletes as he served as the game-day assistant to the Head Athletic Trainer for the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2011-2012 seasons.
Tosha C. Henk, PT, DPT, CLT is originally from Pennsylvania. She graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BS in Exercise Science (2005) and her doctorate in Physical Therapy (2008). Tosha has four years of experience treating patients in outpatient, acute, and short term and skilled nursing rehabilitation settings. In addition to treating general orthopedic conditions, Tosha has received her certification in lymphedema therapy and also has training in treating patients with vestibular disorders.
Matthew Lisk, PT, DPT, ATC grew up in Mount Airy, NC. He earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Athletic Training from East Carolina University in 2009 and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012. Matthew's interests are in the areas of pediatrics, orthopedics, and sports physical therapy. Through his interest in sports physical therapy Matthew acted as a season long Game Day Assistant for the Carolina Hurricanes athletic training staff during the 2011-2012 season. He also served as a graduate assistant in the Human Movement Laboratory where he conducted research on the gait biomechanics of obese adolescents. Matthew obtained clinical experience in a variety of settings during his time at ECU with an emphasis on outpatient orthopedics.
Scott Sedei, MPT graduated with honors from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1996 earning his degree in Exercise Physiology/Science. He later went on to get his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Chatham College in 1999. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Scott has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting for 13 years and has been serving the Clayton, NC community for eight years. He treats a wide variety of orthopedic patients ,but specializes in sports medicine rehabilitation, and has worked closely with many local high schools and their athletes.
