Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO) the research wing for Indian Defense Services conducted two-phased blast evaluation of security laminates (SL-14). In first-phase trial 23-kg TNT was detonated with 9-m stand-off distance. In second-phase 23-kg TNT was detonated with 5-m stand-off distance. In both phases the SL-14 shields used was intact being able to resist the shock, even though the glass has cracked. Ministry of Defense, India was pleased with the security laminated and immediately placed a big order. The Pakistan Army also conducted similar tests of Security Laminates and requested the supply of SL-47 to shield their vehicles.
