  • (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2013 - Babson welcomes an outstanding class of new students to campus this Fall throughout the undergraduate, and graduate 2-year and evening programs. Vice President of Enrollment and Dean of Admissions Grant M. Gosselin notes, "with today's level of competition among elite institutions of higher education, Babson's niche as the global leader in entrepreneurial education has clearly positioned us well to attract the world's top students. The jobs of the 21st century require professionals with innovative approaches to problem solving, a level of comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to effectively lead in diverse populations. Our hands-on approach to education in one of the most globally diverse campuses in the nation uniquely positions students to meet the challenges that lie ahead."

    Undergraduate School
    • A record 6,086 students applied for admission to the Class of 2017
    • 28% of applicants were admitted, the lowest acceptance rate in Babson's history
    • A record 237 women have enrolled in the entering class, representing 48% of the class
    • 29% of the class is multicultural (domestic minority)
    • 23% of the class is international; students come from 42 nations around the world
    • 70% of the class comes from outside New England; students represent 35 US states and territories
    • The SAT average for enrolled students (1897/1268) is the highest in Babson's history
    • In total, 45 Transfer students also enrolled this fall; an additional 40-45 January G.A.P. students will join us this spring.
    Two-Year MBA Program
    • Two-Year applications totaled 563, a slight increase over last year
    • We have enrolled 175 new Two-Year students; this is among the largest Two-Year classes ever enrolled
    • 35% of new Two-Year students are women; this is among the highest percentages of women enrolled
    • 16% of Two-Year US students are multicultural (domestic minority)
    • 61% of Two-Year students are international students from 29 countries around the world
    • The average GMAT and GPA for enrolled students are 610 and 3.2, respectively
    • On average, our Two-Year students have 4.8 years of work experience and are 28 years of age
    • Two-Year students' Top 5 Industries are Manufacturing/Operations, High Tech, Financial Services/Banking, Consulting, and Consumer Products

    Evening MBA Program
    • In total, we have enrolled 60 new students to the Evening Program
    • 42% of new Evening students are women; this is among the highest percentages ever enrolled
    • 22% of Evening US students are multicultural (domestic minority)
    • 8% of Evening students are international students
    • On average, our Evening students have 6 years of work experience and are 29 years of age
    • Evening students' Top 5 Industries are Financial Services, Health Care/Life Sciences, Technology, Professional Services, and Manufacturing and Non-Profit (tie for 5th)
