- (1888PressRelease) March 21, 2012 - LINDON, UTAH - AccessData, a pioneer of digital investigations and litigation support, announces the Summation product suite and attendant services and training components have been chosen by the Office of Defender Services, Administrative Office of the United States Courts (ODS), to be the legal evidence review platform for all Federal Defender Organizations (FDOs) in the United States.
This partnership covers all districts in which there are FDOs (91 of the 94 Federal Districts) for all of their attorneys and staff. In addition, both FDOs and private attorneys who accept Criminal Justice Act appointments (CJA panel attorneys) will be eligible to access the system via AccessData's cloud solution to support multi-party/multi-defendant review for select complex cases. FDOs will deploy Summation for their legal review platform and use AccessData's online Learning Management System (LMS) for training. Also, AccessData will train all of the IT administrators and power users in various classroom settings nationally. AccessData's Summation Litigation Support Services will supply corresponding hosting to the FDOs and select CJA panel cases annually.
"The culmination of this project was the development of the Recommendations for Electronically Stored Information Discovery Production in Federal Criminal Cases by the Joint Electronic Technology Working Group between the Defender Services program and the Department of Justice," stated Tim Leehealey, CEO of AccessData. "We are thrilled to be part of this multi-layered solution. This was a necessarily long and complex process and we are proud to have delivered on the software, training and service requirements for such a needed and groundbreaking program."
AccessData's Summation product suite delivers FDOs across the country a stand-alone, networked and/or cloud environment with data interchangeability to support large cases, multi-defendant review and mobile review. Many FDOs already use AccessData's iBlaze, CaseVantage and FTK products and are familiar with the company's high level of service and support. Further, since training on use of the product is an essential need, the Defender Services program required that classroom, onsite, and online training be available and extensive.
AccessData has begun successful deployments in several FDOs and will continue to assist the remaining offices to get up and running throughout 2012.
