Abnote Australasia Partners To Deliver Qantas Cash Card
ABnote, a leading global card manufacturer and provider of financial and secure credentialing solutions announced today that ABnote Australasia has partnered with Qantas to deliver the next generation Qantas Frequent Flyer membership card.
- (1888PressRelease) December 17, 2013 - The new-look membership card has been enhanced with functionality allowing Australia-based members to load money onto their card to use in Australia and overseas, giving members the opportunity to earn points on eligible purchases.
The new card also acts as a multi-currency travel card, making travel more convenient. Qantas has partnered with MasterCard® which means you can use the card wherever MasterCard is accepted electronically- at over 35 million locations in over 210 countries worldwide for everyday use in Australia, Qantas Cash allows purchases under $100 by using MasterCard PayPassTM where available.
"When you consider all the different things it does, this really is the Swiss Army knife of cards," Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce said.
Qantas Loyalty Chief Executive Lesley Grant predicted it would encourage more people to join the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. She said there is now a "broad understanding" that the loyalty program extends beyond travel.
ABnote was instrumental in ensuring the existing check-in and boarding pass functions continued to work in the new card design whilst further developing, the payments functionality.
ABnote's extensive experience and knowledge of security features and smart card engineering and manufacturing ensure that all cards are equipped with EMV Dual Interface chip integration, facilitating Chip & PIN transactions.
