ABBYY, Microsoft and Nokia Announce Lingvo Dictionaries for Windows Phone

The new product offers an easy access to reliable dictionary content for popular European and Asian languages, providing fast and accurate online translation of words and phrases. ABBYY Lingvo's smart search capabilities and broad dictionary support make it a helpful tool for those who learn or use foreign languages for business communication, travel or self-education.

The reliability of the dictionary content accessible via Lingvo is ensured by ABBYY partnerships with leading dictionary publishers and its own expertise in lexicography and linguistics. The software provides dictionary entries containing translation alternatives, phonetic spellings, word-use examples, inflected forms of words and audio pronunciations recorded by native speakers. To ensure efficient word look-up and translation, Lingvo Dictionaries offers "fuzzy search" to quickly find the required word by any of its forms and displays a list of spelling suggestions to choose from if it is spelled incorrectly.
For more convenience, Lingvo Dictionaries keep a history of recently viewed entries, allowing users to review them as many times as they want without the need to download everything again from the server. Additionally, the product enables users to change font size in dictionary entries for better viewing.
Availability
New ABBYY software for Windows Phone is available via Windows Marketplace in two versions:
• ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries - contains 57 concise general translation dictionaries for 57 language pairs with English and Russian as core languages.
• ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries Russian Edition - offers 49 detailed subject and general translation dictionaries for 42 language combinations with Russian as a core language.
Both versions are compatible with devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and support English and Russian interface languages.
