Abalonetti Launches Fish and Chips Cafe, Also Renovations Complete and New Signage Installed Reflecting the Name Enhancement of Abalonetti Bar and Grill
Just Announced! Abalonetti, located at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey launched a new Fish and Chips Café next to its sister restaurant Abalonetti.
- Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) February 14, 2012 - Abalonetti, located at 57 Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, Managing Partner Kevin Phillips announced today the launch of Fish and Chips Café (located next door to Abalonetti). The Café has 34 seats and an outdoor patio. The Fish and Chips Café is great for grab and go or stop by and relax and enjoy a quick bite with a glass of wine or beer.
The new menu at the Fish & Chips Café will include:
• Clam Chowder by the cup, bread bowl or quart
• Famous AbalonettiCalamari & Fries (Buffalo style at $1)

Fish and Chips Café is located next door to Abalonetti at 57 Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. It is open daily from 10:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
In addition to the launch of the Fish and Chips Café, Abalonetti has undergone a renovation and has new signage, new paint, new chairs and is in the final stages of updating its outdoor patio and launching new menu items.
Background on Abalonetti:
One of the wharf's original restaurants, Abalonetti Seafood was opened in 1951 by two Sicilian families. Named for its signature squid dish that features calamari prepared in the style of an abalone (á la abalonetti), the restaurant quickly gained praise for unique calamari presentation. In 1991, the seafood eatery reopened under the leadership of local culinary celebrity John Pisto. Pisto recognized the restaurant's exceptional skill with calamari and helped expand the menu to include other seafood entrees, gourmet pizzas and a bountiful antipasto bar. Jim Gilbert purchased Abalonetti's in 2007 and Kevin Phillips, previously general manager for Pisto's restaurant group, became managing partner in 2008. In the following years, Phillips has dedicated himself to introducing Abalonetti's to a new generation of seafood and calamari enthusiasts. Careful to preserve the restaurant's traditional favorites while creating an engaging environment for both locals and tourists, the new Abalonetti Bar and Grille will continue to be destination dining on Monterey's wharf.
