  • Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) June 25, 2013 - A Taste of Monterey has partnered with AQUA TERRA Culinary to design a menu of tasty, original fare by Chef Dory Ford, Esteban Jimenez and on site chef at A Taste of Monterey, Adam Foster. Chef Foster came over recently from Carmel Valley Ranch's kitchen.

    The menu includes:

    · Shared and small plates like apple wood bacon-wrapped-and blue cheese stuffed dates ($7) and glazed pork ribs ($8.50).

    · The Monterey crab dip ($12)-with Molten Cheese, Crab and Castroville Artichokes served with local sourdough.

    · Sustainable Seafood Paella Stuffed Pequillo Peppers ($11) with avocado, pickled red onion, watercress and lemon olive oil and the Gambas Al Ajillo ($12), with sweet white shrimp, garlic new potatoes and sofrito vinaigrette.

    · Flatbreads include choices such as the Pig Wizard ($13) with fennel sausage, foraged mushrooms, roasted peppers and toma cheese and the Spaniard ($15) with sofrito, pequillo pepper, chorizo seco, marinated artichoke, cipollini onions, manchego and jack cheese.

    There is also a cheese menu that is sure to delight any palate currently with a total of 14 cheeses to choose from, each paired with chef's accompaniments,with the promise of more to come:

    $6/one cheese; $15/three; $25/five

    The cheese menu is divided into:
    · Soft (like Cypress Grove Humbodt Fog, Di Stefano burrata and house made ricotta)
    · Middle (Bell Weather Farms Candy, Schoch Family Junipero
    · Firm (Vella Cheese Co. Bear Flag) and specialty (Fiscalini Purple Moon, Bee Hive Barely Buzzed).

    A Taste of Monterey also offers more than 180 from 90 wineries, all from Monterey County ($8/flight waived with purchase). They are also now offering English Ales Beers on draft ($5). Lunch is served 12 - 4 pm daily with dinner being from 4-7 Sunday-Wednesday and 4-8 Thursday- Sunday.
