Old Spitalfields Market has announced its next three months of exciting events that will be held at the historic shopping venue during April, May and June 2011. They are:
UEFA Champions League Final Trophy Tour - 28th to 30th April
To celebrate the staging of the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 28 May, the trophies for both this final and the UEFA Women's Champions League final will be going on display in Old Spitalfields Market. The Royal Wedding at Old Spitalfields Market - Friday 29th April
To celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Old Spitalfields Market is providing large-screen televisions to watch the ceremony, plus a pop-up bar to provide shoppers with refreshments during the momentous event. The UEFA Champions League trophy will also be on display. The market is open between 10am and 6pm. Free Admission.
Bank Holiday Family Market and Pop-up Bar - Saturday 30th April
To continue the Royal celebrations and give football fans the chance to marvel at the UEFA Champions League trophy, Old Spitalfields Market will be hosting a family market, plus a pop-up bar stocked with a range of drinks that will keep the busiest of shoppers refreshed and ready to browse the market stalls.
East End Film Festival - Bicycle Symphony - Monday 2nd May
On Bank Holiday Monday, the East End Film Festival's unforgettable interactive musical experience CYCLE SYMPHONY. This sensory journey combines a pedal-powered film by local artist Mila Lipowicz and a specially commissioned live orchestra and choral soundtrack composed and conducted by Amelia Robinson. This free event starts at 3pm.
Fashion Friday with Glasgow Caledonian University - Friday 13th May
On Friday 13th May, Old Spitalfields Market is teaming up with staff and students from Glasgow Caledonian University to bring a unique fashion event to the East End. The day promises a veritable feast of fashion fun! Free admission - event starts at 12pm.
Fashion Friday - Vintage Special - Friday 27th May
Fans of vintage fashion will be able to revel in a plethora of stalls and displays that showcase a range of fashions.
