- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) April 16, 2011 - The Historical Everett Theatre started out as an Opera house and is the oldest operating theater in the State of Washington. Many notables have been on it's stage including: Ernestine Schumann-Heinke, Lon Chaney, Al Jolson, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Lillian Russell, George M Cohan, Gentleman Jim Corbett and Helen Keller. We will be celebrating the Theater's 110th birthday in September, and we are now raising funds for a new marquee.
In the tradition of the first event ever shown on the Everett Theatre's stage in 1901, "The Casino Girl," a road show version of a musical Broadway comedy, we are having a Red Carpet Vegas-style mock-casino night which includes Steve Kelley and the Cherry Cherry Band, a Neil Diamond tribute band.
All proceeds from this event will be going exclusively to the Historical Everett Theatre, which is a non-profit organization.
We look forward to seeing you there!
