A new cd release of an inedit Italian Opera by Domenico Cimarosa: "Il Barone Burlato".
At midnight on December 24th, the recording of a comic opera in two acts, unpublished, by Domenico Cimarosa, "Il barone burlato" will be released on the world record market and in all online digital music stores.
- (1888PressRelease) November 28, 2018 - The record release of this work, unjustly forgotten, of the great composer from the late eighteenth century, is part of the powerful recording and publishing project, called "Cimarosa Rediscovered", promoted by Naxos Record and Artaria Editions Limited (New Zealand), with scientific partnership of the University of Florence (School of Humanistic Studies and Education - DAMS Degree Course) and of the Tuscan Academy "Domenico Cimarosa" which sees the simultaneous publication, in a critical edition, of the Cimarosian homogeneous work and the recordings of the same works.
Cimarosa was one of the most famous operatic composers of his time; his career took place in the major Italian theaters, and the increasing fame obtained from his works led him to prestigious jobs at the court of Catherine II, a tiger of all the Russias, of which he was a Court Composer, and of Peter Leopold of Lorraine, Emperor of Austria. The recording will be conducted by the Italian musicologist and conductor Simone Perugini.
