A New Breed of Punk Music Is On the Rise with Die Pretty's Album Release
Die Pretty aims to re-introduce punk rock to a new generation of rock aficionados with the release of their new album Battle Over Brooklyn.
- (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2011 - Die Pretty is a band originated by brother and sister Skip and Sarah of Brooklyn, New York. Their name was lifted from a Bad Religion song. In 2008, they formed Die Pretty which proficiently delivers heartfelt anthems and melodies pumped up with aggressive and pop-style hooks, thanks to its vocalist Sarah Orloff. With her angelic yet empowering pipes, Sarah kicks Die Pretty's repertoire into full gear. Backed up with her equally dynamic and talented brother Skip, also on vocals and guitar, the duo managed to release their first record 'Bittersweet' the same year. Their music was released in Europe via Unconform Records too, and with the addition of Tommy Cai on guitar and Angelo Merendino on drums, Die Pretty continues to surge on cranking out new material and sounds.
Fast forward to 2010, Die Pretty released their self-titled EP. They returned to the studio to record new material with super-producer/engineer, Oliver Strauss (Matt and Kim, All Time Low, Cobra Starship, All American Rejects) at Mission Sound Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The result is 2011's 'Battle Over Brooklyn', their latest album front and center showcasing an edgier sound but still with the Die Pretty stamp. With influences such as So Cal Bay area punk bands like Pennywise, Suicide Machines, Rancid, Goldfinger, Green Day, Social D, and more, Die Pretty is a new breed of punk pedigree, a force to be reckoned with; best of all, Die Pretty's members live to perform and the energy they give off during a show will make you clamor for more old-school punk rock.
Die Pretty's album 'Battle Over Brooklyn' is available for download at iTunes distributed by JMD Records and INgrooves (a partner of Universal Music Group).
