Ladies and gentlemen, meet Finesse Parlay - a fine specimen of a music artist. Born in Ghana, West Africa, Finesse Parlay aka Daniel Ocansey moved with his mother to the Bronx, New York when he was seven years old. At an early age, Finesse Parlay already knew that music was his life. He was introduced to gospel and soul music, and at 14, he started to make his very own records. Today, Finesse Parlay is a rapper and producer, and he cites hip hop, pop, and alternative as the music genres that have greatly influenced his current style. Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, Eminem, and N.E.R.D. are just a few of the icons that Finesse Parlay emulates.
Besides being an astute musician, Finesse Parlay is also a songwriter. 'My songs are very relatable, from topics of love and breakups to dream chasing', he says. 'The heart of the songs (says) that a dream is only a dream… you have to believe, go after it, and make it happen'.
Even with the constant demands of creating original music, Finesse Parlay is currently college bound. He's balancing both his studies and music. When he's not hitting the books, he's at the studio, recording and producing new tracks. Finesse Parlay keeps the music fire alive.
