17th Annual Gridiron Celebrity Hoops Brings Together NFL Players and Celebrities From The Entertainment World To Raise Funds For Foster Care Organization, Juli's Kids Motivated To Succeed.
- Phoenix-Mesa, AZ (1888PressRelease) January 27, 2015 - On Saturday, January 31st, Jam Sports Productions, LLC (JAM) will present the Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XVII, an annual event held every year during Super Bowl week. The star-studded event will take place at Phoenix College located at 1202 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix. Tip off begins at 1:00PM.
The Gridiron Celebrity Hoops is the first and only charity celebrity basketball game to have ever become officially sanctioned by the National Football League. Now, independently produced exclusively by Jam Sports Productions, LLC., the event marks its 17th year anniversary and is the hottest ticket in town.
JAM Founder/President Juli Jordan says she believes the game has endured such longevity due to it being such a community event. "I believe the community really supports this event because it is something they all can be a part of.
They not only get to see some of their favorite athletes and entertainers, but they also have the opportunity to interact with them as well on a personal level by getting autographs and taking pictures."
This year's roster includes a variety of talent. Returning to reprise his role as TeamX Captain is All-Pro Wide Receiver Dez Bryant (Dallas Cowboys). Along with Bryant, participants include Antonio Cromartie (Arizona Cardinals), Navarro Bowman (San Francisco 49ers), D.J. Hayden (Oakland Raiders), Martellus Bennett (Chicago Bears), Billy Davis (2x Super Bowl Champion; Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens), John Booty (Former Arizona Cardinal), DJ Clue (Celebrity Disc Jockey), Master P (Hip Hop Mogul), Romeo Miller (Actor/Rapper), Boris Kodjoe (Real Husbands of Hollywood), Omar Gooding (Actor), Daymond John (Shark Tank), Eva Marcille (Actress/Model), Bobby Maze (K. Michelle Reality Show), Pat The Rock (World's Greatest Ball Handler), Kenny "KD" Dobbs and Porter "What's Gravity" Mayberry (World Renowned Dunk Champions) among many others.
This year as a prelude to the big game for the first time ever, players will be selected at "The Draft". The event will be held at Red Revolver, located at 7316E East Stetson Drive in Scottsdale and begin at 6:00PM. This exciting, new open-to-the-public player selection concept gives fans an opportunity to see first-hand the selections of players by Celebrity Team Owners and Captains; each leader will select team co-captains and players from a pool of talented athletes and celebrities. Taking place during "The Draft", is the broadcast event, The Countdown; which will showcase sports analysts and celebrity guests talking about the latest sports news, a recap of Pro Bowl, discussion on Super Bowl predictions and an in-depth look at Gridiron Celebrity Hoops.
The event raises awareness and funds for the 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Juli's Kids Motivated to Succeed. The mission of the organization is to enrich the lives of today's abused, abandoned, neglected and homeless children.
