A Fleming Slice of Love - Fleming Asia Hosts Charity Dinner for Abused Orphans
Raudhatul Al-Faeez is the latest orphanage to benefit from Fleming Group's Children's Community Care Programme, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative that identifies and supports orphanages in the country.

For us at Fleming Asia, Christmas season is a time to remind ourselves not to lose sight of the fact that we, in 4 continents of the world, operate as part of a wider society and should contribute to the Christmas spirit by undertaking seasonally themed corporate social responsibility initiative.
During Ramadan and Christmas, the two major religious holidays in the world, Fleming Asia gathers presents and donations to shower more than 30 children with food, clothing, gifts, toys and, most importantly, a loving cheerful environment. At Christmas time, guests and employees were invited to sponsor an orphan and on Christmas Eve they invited more than 50 children for an evening celebration.

A Fleming Slice of LoveThe memorable event was held at Hotel Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. Silvester Pullman, Managing Director for Fleming Asia explained that; 'The initiative forms part of Fleming Group's commitment to making a step-by-step, but significant impact in the lives of children who have been abused and orphaned during this most important early part of their lives, by giving them the one thing they never received: love and care.'
Raudhatul Al-Faeez is an orphanage in Kg. Sungai Salak, Kuala Lumpur that provides a home for orphan children who have been abused and deprived of the basic necessities of life. They are given food and lodging, and from what is apparent from the confidence they displayed, considerable care. While the orphanage doesn't have a school facility, an educational program consistent with the public school education system has been implemented, along with religious education for the kids' enrichment in life. Part of the children go to a nearby school where the cost of their education is borne by the orphanage.
A Fleming Slice of LoveFleming Asia has chosen this facility as an expression of universal love to children regardless to religion, skin color or social status. We have discovered this wisdom from The Holy Quran, which instructs Muslims to treat non-Muslims courteously in a spirit of kindness and generosity - provided they are not hostile towards Muslims.

The Director of Raudhatul Al-Faeez, Pn. Zahrina expressed her gratitude to Fleming Asia for the kind gesture. 'This is very timely. We are very grateful to Fleming Asia for this support. It could not have come at a better time, when all other children enjoy the school holidays with their loving families, which our children could not get part of. This occasion gave them a little but memorable slice of that happiness, so that they could feel like those kids'.
