The first recent travel that comes to the author’s mind is presenting a paper in a university in another city, Sylhet away from Dhaka where she lives. She doesn’t know about the modern bus transports that exist at the time and was happy to travel in one of these with her brother and mother. There was air conditioning in the bus and lots of paper napkins and water bottles in the tray at the front.
The journey by bus was a memorable one including the stop over where one could get refreshed and buy snacks and cold drinks of his choice. After staying in a hotel overnight near the bus stop, the author’s family takes a battery operated three-wheeler to go to Sylhet University so that the author can present the paper.
After the job is done, the author’s family rests at the hotel for some time and ventures out in the evening to the bus stop from where the bus takes them back to Dhaka. Again it is the journey by bus that really is exhilarating for the author.
The author goes on to narrate her travel experiences with family to Chittagong Cox Bazaar sea beach by first-class compartment of a railway train when she was a child. While the journeys back and forth by train were wonderful, the author has a memorable experience enjoying by the sea shore.
