The sure-fire street album was executive produced and authored entirely by Figg Budah. Also known as Budahman and Figg Fresh, The 27-year-old emcee introduces the world to his distinct brand of "dopeness" and authenticity. With unmistakable style and charisma, Figg Budah transcends today's hip-hop music and culture with spirited contributions like The Miramar Playa.
Carried by a blend of smooth, neck-breaking, southern-style production, the album captures humble living in Miami. It follows a twenty-something as he navigates the world of friends, money, sex, drugs, and music. His stories are told through smooth southern deliveries comparable to TI or Yo Gotti, with the hard-hitting commentary of Nas or Kendrick Lamar. With a total playtime of just over forty minutes, featuring two interludes, the EP is "short-n-sweet", jam-packed with flavor that will make any hip-hop listener crave for more.
The Miramar Playa is truly a concept album and a story. Oozing with originality and creativity, the album features standout songs like "Do or Don't", a cautionary track warning against timidness, since there are hardships whether you succeed or fail. Also "Sober Again", a spooky, funny story about running out of weed. And not to mention the title-track "Miramar Playa", which the young artist simply describes as, "Some real playa ass shit."
Neither a saint nor a menace, Figg Budah currently works in entertainment with his family, renting out and installing audio equipment for artists, shows, and events, along with working for his older brother's photo/video company, Xclusive Shots. Also doing 9-5 jobs like security to keep his operation afloat. But what the Miramar, FL native really prides himself on is doing community work, like coaching and mentoring young athletes since the age of twenty-one.
