The world championship is going to be conducted from 18 to 20 November 2022. The Yas Marina Circuit will commence the pre-race events on 17 November, a day before the championship begins. For the early bookings, the Yas Marina Circuit is offering discounts and access to some special events. These special events will be conducted on the weekend before the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is live. The Yas Marina Circuit has also released additional details regarding the on-track and off-track events happening during the schedule of Formula One Racing at the Abu Dhabi GP.
On-Track Action at The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP 2022
The on-track action at the Yas Marina Circuit during the Abu Dhabi GP includes more than just Formula 1 races. Along with F1 Abu Dhabi GP going live, the Yas Marina Circuit will also be hosting the FIA Formula 2 and the FIA Formula 4 UAE from 18 to 20 November.
- FIA Formula 1
The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP 2022 will be the season finale of this year’s Formula 1 world championship. Best drivers and engineers from all over the world will be competing for the Championship trophy.
- FIA Formula 2
The FIA Formula 2 is a racing championship that purely tests the driving abilities of the participants. Unlike Formula 1, all the drivers of Formula 2 races use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier. The FIA Formula 2 races also serve as a testing ground for new car technologies.
- FIA Formula 4 UAE
Like Formula 2, the drivers of Formula 4 races also use identical cars, making the championship a test of their driving skills. After go-karting, Formula 4 is the next step for drivers to participate in world championship. It is also the first step for them into the world of single-seater car racing championship.
Formula One Racing Schedule and Timing
The racing schedule and timings for the Formula One Abu Dhabi GP have been released on the official website of Formula 1. The championship will comprise 5 races, which will be conducted over the weekend, from 18 to 20 November 2022.
● 18 November, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm: Practice Race 1
● 18 November, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm: Practice Race 2
● 19 November, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Practice Race 3
● 19 November, 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm: Qualifying Race
● 20 November, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm: Final Race
Off-Track Action at The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP 2022
The off-track entertainment at the Yas Marina Circuit during the Formula 1 weekend comprises the Yasalam After-Race Concerts, entertainment at the Oasis areas, F1 Fanzone, and Gamezone among other things.
Yasalam After-Race Concerts
The Yas Marina Circuit will be hosting four Yasalam After-Race Concerts on the evenings of 17, 18, 19, and 20 November. The world-renowned supergroup, Swedish House Mafia will be performing on Friday, 18 November. The artists for the other 3 concerts have not yet been announced.
- One-day ticket holders can get access to the concert on the day of their ticket as well as to the concert on 17 November.
- Two-day ticket holders (Sat & Sun) can get access to the concerts on 17, 19, and 20 November.
- Three-day ticket holders can get access to all the Yasalam 2022 concerts.
Golden Circle Upgrade
The Yas Marina Circuit has introduced a ‘Golden Circle’ Upgrade for entry to the concerts. Upon getting this upgrade, the ticket holders will get a fast-track entry to the concerts with dedicated beverage points and front-row access.
Thursday’s Activities
A day before the F1 Abu Dhabi GP goes live, the Yas Marina Circuit will be hosting some fun F1 themed activities and events for the ticket holders. All the ticket holders will get access to these activities and events being conducted on 17 November (Thursday). These include Pit Lane Walks, F1 Fanzone, and Oasis entertainment.
● The F1 Fanzone will be held near the Main Grandstand. The ticket holders can enjoy various F1 themed activities at the F1 Fanzone.
● The Pit Lane Walk is where the visitors will get to watch the participating teams preparing their F1 cars in the pit garages.
● The Yas Marina Circuit will have four Oasis areas, namely, West Oasis, North Oasis, South Oasis, and Abu Dhabi Hill Oasis. The Oasis areas will be a hub for food and beverages, games, live music and entertainment, and more.
Early-Bird Preview Weekend
The people who make early-bird bookings for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022, can get access to Yas Marina Circuit’s Preview Weekend. The Preview Weekend is conducted on the weekend before the Championship. The visitors will get to catch some of the preliminary actions of the Abu Dhabi GP, like the arrival of F1 cargo, the arrival of the teams, and the setting up of the garages among other things.
