Speaker Profile: Pam Tarr
Pam has a long history of creating strategic alliances between the worlds of advertising, entertainment and social change. Her innovation in business dynamics allowed for ground-breaking work through her company Squeak Pictures, where she shepherded the rise of over 100 talented new directors including Sean Penn, David Kellogg and McG, and produced over 2000 projects totaling more than $150 million of production revenue. During its 15 years of award-winning long and short-form work, Squeak produced content that was not only progressive and cutting-edge, but made a difference on a variety of social and political issues.
This ultimately led her to transition from a focus on production to devoting her energies exclusively on changing the world for the better. She formed Ace Entertainment, and began extensive alliances with non-profit organizations to empower change. In her work with Rock the Vote, for instance, Pam was the architect of a business model that created revenue for non-profits that lend their message to commercially viable entertainment. Establishing relationships with CAA, major studios, and A-list talent paved the way for Rock The Vote to amplify its message through its role as producer. She has worked with a variety of organizations including Council for a Livable World, Planned Parenthood, Homecoming for Veterans and Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, the oldest Latino voting organization in America, running fund-raising campaigns and producing live and online events, while also producing branded online content for the launch of Amy Schumer’s non-profit StyleFund.
More recently, her interests have led her to work helping America’s farmers through a variety of projects, including consulting for Hiring America, the first TV series dedicated to helping veterans find jobs, and American Farmland Trust, where she produced live events and made connections to influencers via her contacts in the entertainment industry. But the fulfillment of a dream has been to segue her long-term consulting relationship with The Carbon Underground to Program Director for the public launch of the Adopt-A-Meter Initiative, and be part of a new movement to stop climate change and restore hope for Humanity’s future.
