  • (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2013 - 39 and Holding Club founder, LinDee Rochelle, has turned thirty-nine more than a few times, observing that Boomers (and younger) who look back at their lives often ask themselves, "How did I get here?"

Rochelle says, "Don't stop there. Too many of today's Boomers have not prepared for retirement. Let's face it, we were the original 'live for today' generation. I hope the forty- and fifty-somethings especially, really review where they are, where they want to be in twenty years, and will their time on Earth leave a legacy for others to follow and/or enjoy?

At sixty-plus, you're already into retirement age and if you haven't asked yourself these questions by now, says Rochelle, your time and capability to plan and preserve might be severely shortened. She's urging younger people to think about it while they have more opportunities to change course if necessary, and plan ahead. "Of course, the over-sixty folks can still assess and plan," says Rochelle, who is doing just that. "It's never too late to start!"

In exchange for your laboring over 200-1,000 words, everyone who enters receives a Lifetime Membership in the 39 and Holding Club, with a laminated card that proves you're "Young and Fun Forever." One "spectacular" essay writer will also receive a 39AHC logo T-shirt for best essay.

Deadline is Halloween, October 31, 2013, at the witching hour (midnight, Pacific Time). No fee to enter. Boomer-related products and services are welcome as prize contributions in exchange for promotion. Essay contest details at www.39AndHoldingClub.

The 39 and Holding Club / Club 39 where "It isn't age, it's All Attitude" began as a joke, more for tongue-in-cheek thoughts on aging than any serious introspection. But founder, LinDee Rochelle, was urged by followers to give the site more substance and create the "… most elite, inane club on Earth. No fees, no meetings, no sourpusses." Open to all, from 39 to 139.

Rochelle is author of "Blast from Your Past! Rock & Roll Radio DJs: the First Five Years 1954-1959," and currently writing a twenty-five-year edition to explore Rock & Roll Radio DJs from 1954-1979. A 2014 speaking tour on "Writing Your Living Legacy" is in the planning stages. Contact Rochelle at LinDee ( @ ) 39AndHoldingClub dot com, www.39AndHoldingClub.com or www.BlastFromYourPast.net.
