2nd International Congress Clinically Relevant Drug Transporters for 2011 now announced
IQPC's International Congress Clinically Relevant Drug Transporters from 12 - 14 April, 2011 in Berlin, Germany, will bring together pharmaceutical and academic scientists to discuss the current issues affecting drug transporters research and development.
- (1888PressRelease) February 02, 2011 - Recent FDA regulations and the EMA's guideline on the investigation of drug interactions, as well as the ITC whitepaper are setting new challenges for pharmaceutical companies dealing with drug transporters and drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK). IQPC's International Congress Clinically Relevant Drug Transporters from 12 - 14 April, 2011 in Berlin, Germany, will bring together pharmaceutical and academic scientists to discuss the current issues affecting drug transporters research and development.
Main areas of discussions will be:
• Effective testing and modelling methodology
• In vitro-to-in vivo and preclinical-to-clinical translation of transport data
• Impact of regulatory authorities and the ITC whitepaper
• The impact of membrane transporters on drug development programmes
On 12 and 13 April, delegates will hear case studies from leading companies and institutions in the field of drug transporters such as Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH, Johnson & Johnson, Belgium, the University of Toronto, Canada and the University of Tokyo, Japan.
During the Interactive Workshop Day on 14 April, delegates can enhance their knowledge of topics such as:
• Neurovascular unit and biochemical barrier function
• Modelling of transporter driven DDI
• Model-based drug development: Incorporating population variability into mechanistic prediction of PK and modelling of PK-PD
• Species differences in drug transport and drug metabolism - do we have good enough experimental models to work with?
