275 Stevens-Henager College Graduates Will Receive Diplomas at Commencement on May 26
Graduates will take one more step toward successful futures and new careers.
- (1888PressRelease) May 26, 2011 - Graduates from Stevens-Henager College are taking another step toward successful futures on Thursday, May 26, as they gather to receive their college diplomas. The graduates join the thousands of alumni who have received career training from Stevens-Henager through degree programs in healthcare, information technology, business, and graphic arts.
The program will commence with a special keynote address from Senator Scott Jenkins.
Stevens-Henager College was founded in Ogden-West Haven, Utah, in September 1891. In the last few years, the school has experienced growth in enrollment as more Americans seek higher education as the panacea to a weak economy. This year's graduating class has 275 students.
"Our graduates continue to impress me year after year. This year's graduates come from all walks of life and most are balancing school with raising a family or maintaining a job. But they know the value of a college degree, and their hard work will bring them one step closer to a better life and career," said Vicky Dewsnup, regional director of Stevens-Henager, Ogden.
At the graduation, thirteen-year-old Whitnie Bolster will accept a diploma on behalf of her mother, Melissa Bolster, who passed away unexpectedly last September after completing her degree. Melissa completed all the requirements to earn an Associate of Occupational Studies in Medical Specialties. She is survived by her husband, Matt Bolster, and three children, Caulin, age 17, Whitnie, age 13, and Trevor, age 10.
To support the family and honor Melissa's dedication to education, Stevens-Henager will present Melissa's three children with full scholarships for an associate's degree at Stevens-Henager College, should they choose to attend.
