Joe Roberts, a 25 year old, won a three way special election to face Mike Turner for the 3rd Congressional seat in Ohio.
- (1888PressRelease) July 22, 2010 - DAYTON, OHIO - After a seven-point special primary win on July 13th, over two other candidates in Ohio's 3rd Congressional District, Joe Roberts as been chosen to face incumbent, Mike Turner (R).
Joe Roberts, 25, will be facing off against Representative Turner on November 2nd and if elected, would be the youngest member of Congress.
"I'm running for Congress to bring real change to people here in Southwest, Ohio. I'm not a politician like my opponent," said Roberts. "I will work to help solve the problems in our district by fighting for high quality jobs, corporate and government accountability, and banking reform."
Roberts is a progressive candidate and is working to mobilize new groups of people that have never been reached out to before in the district. He stands to be the new fresh face and voice in Washington that this country so desperately needs.
Being only 25, Roberts understands and has felt the repercussions Turner has had on the OH-3. Representative Turner has been more concerned with playing party politics than bringing stimulus funds to help Dayton and the surrounding cities economy.
"I will fight to bring every dollar we send to Washington back home to put our people to work and to improve our great city and communities," Roberts said. "It is time we had a Representative who is less concerned with back room deals and more concerned about our families."
