2014 Vintage Virginia Promises Local Cuisine, Shorter Lines
The 33rd annual food and wine festival will feature DC food trucks, specialty food vendors and chef seminars - without the wait.
- Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) May 15, 2014 - The 33rd annual Vintage Virginia Wine and Food Festival will be held at Centreville's Bull Run Special Events Center on May 31st and June 1st, with more wineries, food trucks, local vendors and entertainment than ever before. The event staff reorganized this year's Vintage Virginia to prevent long lines, meaning that the festival's wide selection of food and wine will be available for festivalgoers to enjoy without the hassle.
"Last year was the first year we featured the food trucks and the star chef seminars at Vintage Virginia," says Kris Hodges, co-founder of Across the Way Productions, the event management company for Vintage Virginia. "We learned a lot and have carefully planned this year's festival to avoid the congestion and lines that formed so quickly around the popular offerings last year."
Tickets are $30 in advance for the two-day festival, which includes wine tastings from 30 of the top vineyards in the Commonwealth, including but not limited to:
Barboursville Vineyards
CrossKey Vineyards
Lake Anna Winery
Oak Crest Vineyard & Winery
Peaks of Otter Winery
Potomac Point Vineyard & Winery
Prince Michel
Stone Mountain Vineyards
Trump Winery
The Williamsburg Winery
Vintage Virginia will also feature 20 of the area's most popular food trucks, including big names like What the Pho?, DC Empanadas and Red Hook Lobster Pound. New this year will be a handful of specialty food vendors cooking up their take on snacks like nuts, chocolate, popcorn and jerky.
One of the festival's most successful introductions from 2013, the Star Chef Seminars, will make their return in 2014. The Seminars feature star chefs like Food Network personality Emily Ellyn preparing three-course Virginia-inspired meals served with award-winning Virginia wines.
The festival will also be accompanied by live music from Justin Jones, Major and the Moonbacks, Seth Stainback and Roosterfoot and the Allen Thompson Band.
