- West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) December 07, 2012 - As a prelude to the Boca Raton Heart & Stroke Ball planned March 2, 2012 at the Royal Palm Yacht Club, the American Heart Association (AHA) recently held a cocktail reception to honor 2013 Ball Chair Paula Pianta. The elegant reception was presented by last year's co-chairs, Michael and Caren Weinberg, at the iconic One Thousand Ocean condominium in Boca Raton.
Joining Pianta, who is general manager of Bloomingdales at Boca Town Center, were approximately 40 other select members of the local community who support and contribute to the organization and its efforts to fight heart disease and stroke.
Michael Weinberg acknowledged One Thousand Ocean's largest penthouse, the event venue, and said "It has the most incredible views of any condominium I've ever seen." Others were quick to agree, as the 8,770-square-foot customizable interiors (and 4,417 square feet of terraces) overlook the ocean, inlet, Lake Boca Raton/Intracoastal Waterway and city.
Guests were treated to cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and an informative talk by Joey Barnett, Ph.D., associate professor of Pharmacology, Medicine; director of Graduate Studies in Pharmacology; Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center member; and researcher with Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
