2010 SEVA Convention Draws Largest Crowd In Three Years Attendance Topped 250 For The First Time Since 2007
The Southeastern Vending Association (SEVA) Convention which was held last week drew the largest crowd in three years.
- (1888PressRelease) August 14, 2010 - Chicago, IL - The Southeastern Vending Association (SEVA) Convention which was held Aug. 4-6 at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, FL drew its largest attendance since 2007, announced 2010 SEVA Chairman Geoff Paul, President of Excelso Coffee Company.
"The oppressive Florida heat, oil threat, and an unstable economic environment couldn't keep the largest attendance in three years away from Destin for the SEVA meeting," said Paul. "The positives of SEVA-entertainment, keynote speakers, networking-all presented in a unique family atmosphere is the recipe that allows SEVA's future to be as bright as the sands on the beach," he added.
Keynote speakers for the first-class event included NFL Pro Archie Manning, National College Basketball analyst and motivational speaker Mark Adams, and The Passing Zone with a unique spin on the power of partnership.
NAMA President and CEO Rich Geerdes, NCE5, CCS, and NAMA Senior VP of Government Affairs Ned Monroe, CAE, led an update on NAMA strategic priorities, including the most current status on federal legislative issues affecting the industry.
In addition, suppliers and operators from SEVA gathered for a special session to discuss school vending restrictions in their states and how they are dealing with them in their own businesses.
Other SEVA activities included a 1950s Sock Hop complete with costume contests, hula hooping and a tattoo parlor; golf tournament, beach volleyball tournament and a Sponsor Appreciation Reception.
"At the Sponsor Appreciation Reception, we played a version of Monopoly designed to maximize the interaction between suppliers and operators. Not only has this proven to be a success but everyone has a great time in the process. It's great to hear, 'I'll be back next year-over and over,' "said Paul.
SEVA includes the states of Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida but all vending, coffee service and foodservice industry members are welcome.
SEVA would especially like to thank all of the 2010 sponsors. SEVA could not put on such a first-class event without their continued financial support year after year!
