2010 Lincoln Road Halloween Extravaganza a Howling Success
3-day event draws 50,000-7,000 patrons.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2010 - The Lincoln Road Association welcomed 50,000-70,000 local residents and tourists to 3 -days of events on Lincoln Road during its Halloween Weekend Extravaganza from October 29-31, 2010.
This year, Lincoln Road hosted a wealth of exciting activities throughout the 2010 Halloween Weekend in anticipation of All Hallow's Eve. From engaging shows along this historic strip to events hosted by Lincoln Road's fabulous and diverse venues, the 2010 Halloween Extravaganza gave locals, tourists, and onlookers at chic cafes and bistros along Lincoln Road, a cause to celebrate the most entertaining live Halloween show they have ever experienced.
The weekend festivities commenced on Friday, October 29th with music and Lincoln Road's True Queen of Drag, Drag Queen Costume Contest, brought to you by Score and hosted by the always entertaining Daisy Deadpetals.
The celebration continued through Saturday with a host of family fun activities. The day's events provided something for every member of the family; beginning with The Halloween Howl Dog Costume Contest brought to you by The Dog Bar, and followed with The Lincoln Lantern Pumpkin carving contest brought to you by Florida Earth Pageants. As the sun set on Saturday night, the music began, and gave way to the Lincoln Road Music Series which featured live music and entertainment throughout the night. Saturday night's festivities drew to a close with a taste of everyone's favorite vampire show, "A Taste of 'True Blood' on Lincoln Road." The performance, emulating the popular HBO television series, captivated on-lookers with blood thirsty performers and tantalizing moves brought to you by Bar 721.
Daylight on Halloween Sunday began with trick or treating children, who gathered sweets in their pillowcases from Lincoln Road storefronts. Clowns, magicians, and stilt walkers lined the streets to entertain, while shoppers and restaurant guests from this luxury paradise watched as little princesses and goblins roamed the Lincoln Road strip.
When night began to set on Miami Beach, the road filled with tens of thousands of revelers, preparing for a whimsical night long entertainment event of live music, costume parties, great food, shopping and people watching. With numerous stages across the length of Lincoln Road, every corner of the strip was filled with the sound of live music. The legendary costume contest, held on the main stage, announced the best three costumes of the night, each winner receiving a great prize for their dynamic creativity.
The 2010 Lincoln Road Halloween Extravaganza weekend was made possible with the support of Muscle Milk, Café Bustelo, Score, The Dog Bar, Florida Earth Pageants, Sean Donaldson Hair, Miss Yip Chinese Café, Buck 15 and was presented by The Lincoln Road Marketing Association.
