13th Annual TheFitExpo Laces Up for Three New Events on Sunday, January 24 - 5K, Reps N Run and Kid's Fun Run

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) December 18, 2015 - Lace up those sneakers and run/walk with three exciting new events at the West Coast's largest health and fitness event, TheFitExpo Los Angeles, Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 South Figueroa Street, South Halls G, H, J and K.

Sponsored by Optimum Nutrition, all three inaugural events, TheFitExpo 5k, Reps n Run and the Kids Fun Run, will take place on Sunday, January 24 from 8:30 to 10:00am. Expo participants of all ages will have the opportunity to see the sights of downtown Los Angeles up close as they run, jog, skip or walk in any of these events prior to the start of TheFitExpo's final day. "With a record breaking year last year, we are thrilled to be adding another element of fitness to the Expo that allows attendees to get outside and enjoy downtown Los Angeles before coming into the Expo Hall," says Erin Ferries, Executive Director of National Fitness Productions. "Of course we did it our way by adding a twist -- strength and endurance -- to the mix."

TheFitExpo 5k is a 3.1 mile walk/run and will start at the Los Angeles Convention Center and head down Figueroa towards the USC campus and back. For an additional challenge, Reps 'n' Run will test your overall fitness by measuring both strength and endurance by having challenge seekers run the 5k, then compete in three exercise (pull-ups, air squats and push ups) for maximum reps. Children under 12 can get in on the action too, by running in the Kid's Fun Run, a ½ mile challenge starting at 9:30am. Included with registration for any of these events is a finisher T-shirt and medal along with a complimentary TheFitExpo weekend pass, a value of $45.

Participants are encouraged to attend the Expo following their run/walk event. A special "Elite Runner Panel" will take place on the Competition Stage, Sunday, at 11:00 AM. Olympians Shevon Stoddard, Alysia Montano, and Nick Symmonds will answer your questions, share their stories and give advice on training. The moderator of this panel will be Steven Benedict.
